FEATURES & SPECIFICATIONS
Not all barrel threading is the same. It’s all about attention to detail.
At Riflecraft we understand that the bore is seldom in the middle of the barrel. If the thread is cut to the outside diameter of the barrel with no account to where the bore is, the bullet stands a much higher chance of striking a baffle in your moderator when fitted.
Riflecraft specialist lathes index the barrel on the centre of the bore, not the outside of the barrel. This allows us to cut the thread in perfect alignment to the bore, minimising bullet deflection and maximising accuracy and consistency. Therefore, we thread factory rifle barrels exactly the same way as we build custom rifles. The barrel is 'dialled in' using a six-jaw adjustable chuck with a pilot fitted to the bore. A dial indicator tells us when the bore is running true and only then do we cut the thread. Every barrel is re-crowned at no extra cost.
