Simple Rules for Purchasing a Firearm

To purchase a rifle you will need to have authority on your license for the specific calibre you want and also for an accompanying moderator if applicable.

You will not be able to take possession of any firearm without presentation to us of your license so please do not be offended if we turn you away if you have forgotten to bring your license.

A third party cannot transport your firearm unless it is on their license also, by serial number.

We can only send firearms by courier to another dealer, not to an individual and transfers between dealers do incur a charge.

Where a remote sale takes place, the dealer who carries out the financial transaction should enter the firearm on to your license, even if this means that you have to send them your original license. They should also issue notification to your Licensing Authority and provide you with a copy.

Please note that when the time comes for you to dispose of one of your firearms to another certificate holder, you must enter the details of the transaction on the back of the purchaser's certificate. If you dispose of a firearm to a Registered Firearms Dealer, they will enter the transaction in their register and as in the case of a purchase, will issue the notification to your Licensing Authority and provide you with a copy.

All notifications must be sent within 7 days.

If in any doubt please call us and we will be pleased to assist but for more detailed information click here or contact your local Licensing Authority.
